Re: [MW:20204] Corrosion in Super Duplex Stainless Steel - Sea Water

Dear Experts

I had been experienced in a Project of R.O plant. So there I had experienced the same situation. So the Client had made studies and They found SS 31254 is better for these type of situation. Similar type of 'Pitiing' corrosion was observed there too. Existing material was the same UNS 32750/32760. So We replaced the Piping with SS 31254.

Same time Pickling and Passivation done on the piping ( P & P) .

Thanks & Regards

Jose,

Have u done pickling and passivation after the welding/NDE or before put into service.
SDDS job cleaning is the most important.
For sea water application P&P is must after the hydro test.

Mohd.
