Re: [MW:15072] RE: 15059] expansion joints

Dear Dr. Gendia

Many thanks for your kind response....

The problem is I do not have 100 meter distance to do my expansion loop. My client asks me every day to use the available expansion joint in Iraq, which is longitudinal only without lateral. That makes me think about using of an expansion loop to overcome the problem of lateral expansion...

Thanks again ....

Dear College

To have a proper answer we need to have the ISO of the inlet line with all dimensions and curbs angles , the fixed points and ends , the flow rates and pressure in order to calculate the required expansion joints required.

But if these data would be hard to get in the mean time. Practically least to have the line  diagram between last curb /or fixed joint before Tank inlet.

Any way if you are within 100 meters you could use one expansion Loop for safety.

Subject: [MW:15059] expansion joints

Dear Experts...

I need to minimize the number of expansion joints in 8 and 12 inch oil pipe used in feeding up a storage tank with 5000 cubic meters ..... I think the using of loop expansion can solve the problem...... Would you please help me in getting some criteria...
