Hi, At my point of view Electrode play a big role in weave bead technique.Because Weave bead is obtained by moving the electrode in a weaving type/motion.
In WPS you can mention string or weace bead.Normally in pipeline weldings wps specified as "first 3 beads Weave and rest string". So you can specify both or single type.
Thanks & Regards,

Dear All, In GTAW,which parameter I have to take in to consideration for limiting weaving range.ie, gas cup size or diameter of tungsten electrode(non consumable) or filler wire diameter(consumable) ?My client inspector says filler wire(consumable),but my mind says tungsten electrode(non consumable),some reply from our forum says gas cup size.I am totally confused. If weaving is not applicable in GTAW, can I put string for all beads in my WPS? Please advise me. Regards, Limesh

With GTAW, the weave width depends upon the size of the cup when "walking the cup" and should not have any affect on the weld in that you can control heat with travel speed with GTAW.
