[MW:8392] minimu degree requirement for Compoud angle( total angle) for butt weld

Greetings.

 

 

The total bevel angle for V JOINT for Butt weld is 60 Deg. Joint is category A type. Full Radiography is reuired for the joint.Construction code ASME SEC VIII DIV 1.

 

 

What will be the effect in terms of Design/Mechanical requiremnts if  the angle is reduced to 45 deg.

 

 

I mean if the total bevel angle is reduced to 45 deg( 15 deg less than the requirement) what will be the effect on  the joint.

 

also inform me what is the minimum total angle allowed for butt weld as per ASME SEC VIII DIV 1.
