RE: [MW:5236] Repaire of Damaged Galvanised Sheet

1. What caused the White Rust? If the causes are not eliminated it will
re-occur
2. How much White rust?
3. How mush of teh orginal galvanizing remains? (Measure the thickness with
a device like a Positech 6000)
4. If sufficnet Galvanizing remains the white rust can be removed by a
stiff brush (Plastic or brass Not Steel).
5. Individual sheets are cut from rolls of galavized material,
re-galvanizing a complete sheet muight be possible in a Hot-Dip tank.
6. there are several methods for repairing, eithar a cold zinc rich paint
system applied to the surface of a Tin/Zinc solder based solder applied
with heat.

To make a paint repair look acceptable , paint the surface, when partially
dry use a scotchbrite (

) cleaning pad to blend the surrounding area.

Life - depends on envirnomental conditions.
