Please explain the process and parts that you want to join. Induction Heating will be a better solution for joining of plastics to metal, since you can heat the metal uniformly with induction and provide a poly (same compound as the plastic ) layer in between the metal and plastic this will form a hermatic seal around the area.
We do something similar to join Aluminium Foils to Plastic, look up www.electronicsdevices.com under the capsealing process. More case studies on Induction Heating are also mentioned there.
