Re: [MW:7115] selection criteria for root, face and side bend test

Dear Mr. Limesh,
Criteria is plate/pipe thickness. If the thickness is greater than or equal to 10mm then go for side bend, thickness less than10mm u have to go for face/root. As said by Mr. Karthick refer QW 451.1 in ASME sec IX.

Dear All,
I found that some specimen tested by root and face bend. Some specimen tested by side bend only.
What is the selection criteria for root, face and side bend test?
Is there any clause in ASME BPV SEC IX regarding this?

Regards,

Limesh
