Dear Khan ;
PMI can be opted but it's not an alternative to chemical testing . Yor statement " For carbon Steel we can check if there is something happened im change of welding consumables for welding" is not clear ...Can you specify . Well .What about physical properties ?

Dear Experts,
One of our contractor purposed PMI for ASTM A105 Flanges due to lake of inspection documents.
As my understanding PMI is suitable for HSLAS,
SS and DSS. For carbon Steel we can check if there is something happened im change of welding consumables for welding.
Please share your experience.
