Galvanized steels are zinc coated carbon steels(typically). Zinc removal prior to welding is advisable, as Zinc creates lot of fumes, plus Zinc deposition is done under acidic solutions, which may cause dissolution of hydrogen. Attached is the article which explains how to handle such steels and successfully welding them. Additionally, you may download this AWS standard so as to find the necessary resources for welding Galvanized steels.
Thanks.
