Re: [MW:32250] PWHT REQUIERMENT FOR PIPING AND PIPELINE

As we know, After ASME B31.3 2012 editions, the PWHT requirements for greater than 20mm thick has been changed to 95 Deg Preheat for all thickness P.No1 material.

Though its excepted from latest editions, pl check the following for PWHT requirements

1.    Pl check the Applicable ASME edition as per your contract

2.    Pl check do u have qualified WPS/PQR without PWHT for higher thickness

Many clients specify in contract to follow 2012 edition, to perform PWHT for greater than 20mm thick. This is to avoid  the potential risk involved when higher thickness pipe welding at a later stage.

Thanks and Regards

Yes brother compulsory you have to do preheating but you need to maintain the temperature so my recommendation is better for coil induction coil heating is good to maintain the temperature
