There is no requirement of size of specimen in code. However it should selected based on the testing requirements. Like for carrying out tensile test, width of min 300mm is required including weld, width wise. Length will depend on kind of testing required such as hardness, impact etc. AI cannot question this as it is the sole responsibility of manufacturer.
