The 2016 edition of B31.1 is requiring VOLUMETRIC EXANIMATION (RT or UT).
it is surprising that this Code Section has no lower thickness limit for UT. However Section I does not allow UT when the thickness is lower than 13 mm (see Table PW-11 note f).
