[MW:25536] Re: Removal of penetrant

Dear Prem,

I am only ASNT Level II and during Level II Certification same thing is explained to me as you suggested,
But L&T Level III and AI given instruction that any way they can Clean since no where it is specified to clean in Uni Direction as well as Time to Clean.
They Have Instructed clean the Penetrant until the any penetrant races visible.
Cleaning time They are taking 10 to Minutes.

Since I don't have any ref in Code and Specification or Any Std. ASTM E 165 so I can't argument.
If you have any ref. Pls tell me.

Dear all
During pt examination on weld we are using wire brush wrapped with cloth to remove penetrant from the grooves of weld passes.
Can anybody reply. Is it correct practice?
With ref to code and std.
