The welder diameter qualification range is 73mm and above, as he welded 6inch pipe.
My question is can the above said welder can do welding on 2inch weldolet to run pipe connection, as the weldolet od if physically verified will be more then 73mm.

If I understand correctly your input the welder was qualified with a pipe with OD=73 mm. In that case his is qualified for OD 25 mm and over.Please note that base metal thickness is not an essential variable for welders qualification.
