Re: [MW:19962] welder qualification renewal

Hi Kumar,
To cut the long story short.
The criteria for renewal is WELDING PRO CESS ONLY.
Position, groove configuration, uphill downhill, with backing without backing, F no used, material used, thickness,  etc is not a factor to be considered for renewal, however some clients may ask for proof for renewal in terms of volumetric NDE reports, for groove welders. Hence it is always better to have some back up.
Just my 2 cents.

Dear all
This means if the welder has performed in the particular processes irrespective of the positions and configurations, his qualifications can be considered as renewed..I think.. (ie..welder had qualified for 6g but done 1g sometimes in 6 month..but still he can be renewed for 6g..) kindly confirm
Thanks in advance,
Kumar.

Only Process matters.. Not weld configuration.
