Hi,

Since copper is having high thermal conductivity so to weld copper,
one should focus on preheating appox 300 to 400 degree C.

Also try to use optimum electrode/filler diameter to have more arc heat.

In copper premature cooling is always a problem.

also use dia 1.6 mm filler wire only for thickness less than 3 mm.
