Re: [MW:19875] RE: 19867] PWHT on P91 support (Pad +Shoe)

Dear All

As per my opinion, It is Acceptable with Normal Clause of Heat Treatment, it was not in contact with P 91 material ,  So Not  Need to Heat treatment of CS.

but it is Actually Depend upon thickness of weld Bead of Carbon Steel Plate with P91 Material   and  More on  Heat  which Was Produced During Carbon Steel welding Pad .

But Geometry show that , if  you do Heat Treatment only to P91 material it will surely effect on  CS Support , so it is better you do Heat treatment to Whole Assembly include CS support To Avoid Stress Concentration .

Dear friend :Please Put one thing in mind ,Heat Treatment always show benefit to any Material within if  it 's within Temperature range so Do not worry .

Dear jhen: I am Looking your response on my  explanation .

Dear Sumod,

As per attached figure no need PWHT for CS tissue because no direct contact with (P91) material.

Subject: [MW:19867] PWHT on P91 support (Pad +Shoe)

Dear experts,

PWHT is done on pipe(P91) to pad (P91) weld. Is it required to do PWHT on pad (P91) to support shoe (CS) fillet weld. Please refer the attachment for details.
