RE: [MW:19936] ASME Section VIII D1 U stamped vessel

Hello Najim,

Any repair on ASME vessel AI to be informed.  In addition you have to prepare repair procedure stating depth of the damage and after repair remaining thickness .

Subject: [MW:19934] ASME Section VIII D1 U stamped vessel

Dear Experts,

Good Day,

We received above vessel with little surface damage say 1 or 2 mm deep maximum, vessel is post weld heattreated. We checked and conclude that only grinding can solve the matter. Can anyone guide that with only grinding (no welding activity is involved) we can repair without consulting ASME A.I. and without R stamp.

A quick reply from the team is highly appreciable.

Regards,
