Subject: [MW:18878] 3.5 % Nickel Steel ( A 203 Gr E)
For one of the project we have been guided that we can use 3.5 % Nickel Steel ( A 203 Gr E) up to -104° C, design temperature.
But I am in under impression that if I will go with, for example SMAW electrode (E 7015-C2L, E 7016-C2L & E 7018-C2L) then as per ASME Sec II C, it can be use up to -100 ° C.
My question is that should we use same electrode for -104 ° C.
When we talk about plate material one of the very reknown German steel mill is agree to supply A 203 Gr E on -104 ° C.
Best regards

Dear Sir ,
the thickness of P91 material is 21 mm and for SS304 material is 12 mm. This is the fillet joint for support as running pipe is of P91 material and support pad is of SS304 H.
Please advise for PWHT & WPS .
Regard's

Sa335 Gr P91 side to be buttered up to a minimum of 13mm with ERNiCr-3. Then PWHT to be done for that side as per the requirement of P91 to P91 welding (Normally 720 deg temperature up to a minimim of 2hrs). Then face prepration is to be done (Ensure a 13mm buttering after this face prepration)
Then prepare the joint b/w P91 and SS304 and weld with ERNiCr-3
No PWHT requirements after this
