dear krish,
1, cetreline crak is clear result of improper cleaning of plates and filler metal and tools.
2.or you can have squire butt joint.
3.if you are using 3G position try with 1G.
4.you can go for stringer bead instead of weaving as shown in pic.
5.you can have vertical upward instead of downward as i show in pic ripples.
6.fine tune your weld parameter with good skillfull welders.

would you ever try autogenous welding for such thin plates.?
