[MW:18773] Re: Impact testing failed with ER70S2 wire at -48°C & -35°C

Dear Ali,

If one set is failed you can have/make other set that can be tested.

Which area impact failed HAZ or full weld?

What is base metal spec and thick?

Heat input can be control from 1.8 to 2.1KJ/mm

Filler metal has proven -50ºC tested then filler metal has not issues.

regards,
mohd.

Dear Friends,

I have tested one PQR where Impact testing (GTAW weld) got failed at -48°C & -35°C also;

Impact values
9 joules at -48°C
12 Joules at -35°C

I had received Filler wire with 3.1 certificate having impact tested at-50°C; kindly advise

Heat Input max

2.58KJ/mm Root run &

1.8Kj/mm for other runs

Kindly advise
