Re: [MW:12263] Prequalified WPS

Dear Mr.Arvinda..

1.Strictly speaking procedure qualificaiton as per ASME SEC IX- will not validate the qualificaiton as per AWS D.1.1
2. You have to keep the parameters as per the various tables in the sec 3 of AWS D.1.1

Dear Experts,

Plz clarify.

  1. PQR is qualified as per sec IX. Can we make WPS for structural as per AWSD1.1 ?
  2. By preparing WPS with pre-qualified procedures as per AWS D1.1 sec.3, how can we prepare? My doubt is as per AWS D1.1 sec 4 WPS, positions are essential. Can we make WPS for all positions in single WPS? How can we make & use pre-qualified procedure.
Arvinda.
