Dear Akhil,

You can very well use E 7018 for welding all the passes, in a double vee joint, you'll have to remove the root pass from the first side and then deposit the weld form the second side.

What ever way you weld, the 7018 weld needs to be done with backing, you use a backing strip or you back grind or back gouge.

please take care of clause QW-404.30, so that you are within the limits.
