Re: [MW:8018] QW 423 & QW 424(P.no) conflicts.... Clear me.

3) a little more clearity,i.e suppose a welder is qualified for p1 to p1,he's qualified for p1 through p11,p34,p41 through p49,with that F.No only what he has used in p1 to p1 as per QW423.1but,to deposit weld on p8 he cant use same F No for that he has to qualify F.No corresponding to p8,hope it's clear now

1) for change of essential variable you will have to change wps/pqr

2) No

Good afternoon,

1)      Yes, any change of a P-number requires a new PQR and WPS

2)      No, you can weld all material that are of the same P-number with the your original PQR. Let's say you used SA-516 Gr 70 to run your PQR using a GMAW/FCAW process. You would be able to weld SA-106 Gr B using the GMAW/FCAW process without running a new PQR.

3)      No, look at QW 423.1 if a welder qualified on any base metal in the left column they are qualified to weld on any base metal in the right column.  If a welder qualified  on a P1 material they would be able to weld P1 thru P15F, P34 and P41 thru P49 materials. But be aware of the filler metal F-numbers.

Example:

A welder is qualified on P 1 material using GTAW  E70S-2 (F6) and SMAW ER7018 (F4). The welder would be qualified to weld on P8 material but only in the GTAW ER316 (F6)  process, not the SMAW E316 (F5) due to the F-number being different from the F-numbers qualified.

Thank you,

Ken

Dear All,

1)if P.no is changing, For example from P.no X to P.no Y, either we have to go for new WPS & new PQR or not, Clear me.. (Same Process)

&

2) If base material is changing within P.NO 1,  example, A106 to A36. Either i have to go for new PQR or not, & welder to be qualified for tat base material changing within P.no. 1 or not? (Same Process)

& 3) one welder got qualified in P.No X, is he only qualified to weld tat P.No only, am i correct or not... (Same Process)

Pl clear me about above three...
