[MW:5722] RE: 5720] How to demagnetise the tube sheet?

Hi!

Generally This grade does not get magnetized , unless  overlayed by ESSC , where high current being used. However you can demagnetized by

i)              This material  require preheating , through  thickness ( By electrical heating from circumference and front side )  to temperature of 150c

ii)             You can also demagnetize by winding cable around the tube sheet  with reversing the polarity  with high current of about 600Amp

Subject: [MW:5720] How to demagnetise the tube sheet?

Hi Members,

We are suffering a problem in tube sheet. The tube sheet is P5A material (SA 336 Gr F22 CL.3) is magnetised.

We are not able to proceed the GTAW welding of tube to tube sheet.

We are not sure how it is happened. How can we demagnetise the tube sheet.

It is around 275 mm Thk and 3 mtr dia.

Kindly request the solution from experts.

Thanks & Regards
Muhammed Ibrahim PK
