Dear Mr. Tran,

You can go for spectrometer analysis of chemical composition. That is the best method to determine % of elements. PMI test is mainly for identification of materials, it wont show exact values at any point of time.

Dear All,

 

Please help me in PMI testing for material ASTM A36 thickness over 20.0mm, the composition requirement of manganese is (0.8 – 1.2)%. But result of test is less than 0.8%. Other testings are accepted (tensile, bending, elongation).

 

Please advice me this result is accepted or not.

 

If not, please advice the solution.
