[MW:4090] RE: 4089] RE: 4088] Weld Efficiency

Hi Bathula
Its simple Pipe to pipe joint single butt weld joint ( 4 to 8" Sch 10 pipes) .But considering the thickness & diameter its lying in Type 3.
Can we consider Type 1, but its for double weld butt joints?

Thanks
Praphulla

what type of joint it is, if it is to be radiographed, why not consider under type 1 of table UW12

Hi All
As per ASME SEC VIII Div I, in Table UW-12 , for type No 3 weld joints, 0.7 joint efficiency is specified without any radiographic examination.
But If I performed radiography examination, then what joint efficiencies values I should consider for Full & Spot radiography ? As per code & Table UW-12, its NA.

Please guide me.
