Hi, Please find below my simple comments as marked in red. 1. what is the time limit to carried out the PWHT after completion of welding as per B31.3 There is no time limit for PWHT except P.No.62 as mentioned in Table 331.1.1, note.10. But Definition of PWHT is heat treatment shall be done immedietely after final welding finished. Also pls.refer 331.2.4 Delayed Heat tretament and 331.2.5 partial heattreatment. 2. In B31.3 anywhere mention the Type of service also range of PWHT varies.... Code specifies that,heat treatment requirements shall be decided by the designer according to the service conditions. Please refer 331.2 - Specific requirements Category M Fluid Service - follow B31.3 - Chapter-VIII - M331 High Pressure Piping - follow B31.3-Chapter-IX - K331 3.What will happen if PWHT will carried out after 6 Month service. Please explain in detail with relevent clause. pls.refer 331.2.4 Delayed Heat tretament and 331.2.5 partial heattreatment. Delay in PWHT may result of cold cracking.
