RE: [MW:27132] P11 material Welding

The range of composition, as per SFA 5.28 is as below. This is the requirement for deposited weld metal.

The reasons for overshooting these limits could be due to:

·         Problem with formulation with a specific batch. If so a SFA 5.28  test pad should be prepared , composition re-verified and anomalies should be brought to the attention of the consumable manufacturer.

·         Check the calibration & accuracy  of the PMI equipment. It needs to be verified on the calibration blocks supplied with the equipment

·         If PMI results  are of doubt change the equipment or the  technique.

·         For the 2nd case as above  a change from XRF to OES may be of help.

Thanks.

Many be depends on the Accuracy of PMI Testing Machine.

Normally most specification requires PMI verification only for high Alloy.

Process(TIG) , Base metal ,heat control , filler wire everything is excellent.

Someone have idea why this problem occurred  ??

Thanking you very much in advance
