This is not a pressure vessel or any critical structure for opting of WQT.
However as a quality engineer we should ensure the ability / performance of the welder.
Hence any of the code provisions or earlier experience certification is sufficient as per my perspective.
As per ASME 3G and above qualified welder is suitable for this application (on plate also sufficient)
Else if any client specific norms are defined for this application than we have to extract the client spec, and their expectations and their norms. (viz ASME, AWS, IS Etc)
