[MW:26694] Re: Longitudinal Weld overlay

I have come across situation that even for 250 mm nozzle ID weldoverlay has been in longitudinal direction and approved by Korean client.

Standard good practice is to apply weld overlay in circumferential direction. However in case of small diameter nozzles is to deposit weld overlay in the longitudinal direction.

This is to avoid the overheating (too high inter pass temperature) which should occur in case the weld overlay is applied in the circumferential direction.
