[MW:18342] Tack welding,bridge tack welding,requirement of welder if above 16inch


Dear Expert,

Construction Code B31.3

Question 1:

Why the tack welding to be done in the groove with piece of "glit",where it is mentioned in code?



Question 2:

Is it acceptable for bridge tack with different material but same P number?



Question 3:

Before in one project we usually use 2 welder for 16" pipe.This one where it has mentioned in code?

Question 4:

Root & hot pass welding done by GTAW with one welder(he is qualified GTAW&SMAW) & Final and cap with 2 welder/both sides (SMAW process qualified pipe welder) Is it acceptable?
