Please share experience/views on selection of compressor casting
materials for low temperature service
MDMT -33 °C (Ammonia service)
vendor 1 suggested the following:
Cylinder: ASTM A278 CL40 (MOLY CI)
Cylinder Liner: ASTM A 48 Class 35
Piston: ASTM A48 Gr40
vendor 2 suggested the following:
Cylinder: NCI (A536 Gr Cl 40)
Cylinder Liner: GGz30, A48(45B) (ASTM)
Piston: NCI : A536 Gr (60-40-18) (ASTM)
any alternatives?
