What is you code of construction, was there any lethal or sour service requirements? Hardness restrictions? Requirement of SCC etc.
What is the tempering temperature of the base material (probably 540 °C is recommended as it should not exceed the tempering temperature), refer the datasheet tempering temperature for this material in the range of 540-680°C

Subject: Inconel 625 overlay on AISI4140
Dear Friends,
Could anyone pl. advice or guide us as we wanted to weld corrosion resistant overlay of Inconel 625 on AISI 4140 on a used sub sea equipment in the oil and gas sector , where in the application demands severe Tensile and cyclic loads on the component . The overlay shall be of approximately 4~5mm on a 100 mm thick section .
The vendor has submitted us two procedures with pulsed GMAW (Auto ) welding process having with and without PWHT . When we referred the procedure with PWHT we found that the procedure is qualified (at 540 degreeC @ soaking time 2hrs and rate of heating 150 degree C/Hr)
can anyone help me out to send the literature with and without PWHT
Best regards
venu
