[MW:0] RE: Cr. % Changing in heat Treatment

What is the %Cr you are getting? Normally this various is possible even if you take at different locations, and not because of HT . +/-10% variation over the specification requirement can be accepted in PMI. If you want precise readings try other methods.

Subject: Cr. % Changing in heat Treatment

Dear Sir,

I am Israr Ahmed working as a surveyor in one of the co. in mumbai,

Recently I witnessed a PMI test on Raw Material EN10083-34CrMoNi6.I was getting the result as per the requirements.

Now after machining and Heat Treatment of the same material I witnessed the PMI. The cr. percentage is getting down by 0.1percentage.

Both Time PMI done by a same Lab.

Could you pls guide me what may be the reason.
