Re: [MW:8820] UTS

Dear Bhavesh,

With due respect, Heat Input depends on mechanical properties such as Toughness, Tensile and yeild strength and Hardness.
For toughness, it's not certain, to an extent increasing then decreasing, but for others it has monotonic relationship.

With refernce to the steel mentioned, ASTM 516 gr.70 (C-Mn-Si), Tensile strength of Weld metal would decrease due to coarsening of structure and fromation of grain boundary ferrite, When SMAW used, with Higher Heat Input, C-Mn-Si  content would reduce therefore, Ultimetaly it would also effect Tensile properties of Weld metal.

If you still disagree with above explanation, Please provide some basis to substantiate your claim.
