Re: [MW:8801] ACCEPTANCE STANDARD FOR PRESSURE VESSELS

During performance or procedure qualification, one should always follow the acceptance criteria for ASME Section IX as our design code has said to follow Section IX for it.
 
The main reason behind this is Design code has acceptance values that are suitable for our job and ASME Section IX has values for qualifications which are more stringent. As if it is considered that if one passes a stringent test, he can weld well on a less stringent one.
 
That is the basic reason. One can follow the Design Code if ASME Section IX directs towards it.
