[MW:2774] Weld Impact Test for Dissimiller Metals

Dear All,

 

We have a  job ( hydro generator) having material SA 387 Gr.11 CL 2 + SS347 ( clad) ,required impact test at (minus)-18 Deg.C with energy value 33 J average (irrespective of MDMT ),having some nozzles (LWNR) material is SA 182 F 347.   

For  Welding Procedure Qualification of Dissimilar metals ( P4 To P8) using electrodes by E309L , weld Impact test is required or not?

As per ASME SEC VIII Div 1 – UHA-51 (e) it is exempted , kindly give expert comment.
