We want to do torch brazing of a Brass forging to a Brass ring, dia. @300mm.
The joint is a partial penetration single V butt joint. The depth of bevel is 19mm.
The brass is almost similar to BS 1400.
The chemical composition of both brass members is Copper=70%, Tin=1.5%, Lead=1.5%,Nickel=1%,Fe=0.5%, Balance=Zinc.
I am bit confused about the brazing filler wire selection.
I request Brazing experts to guide me on the correct filler wire + flux selection.
Can i use RBCuZn-A (with Cu60%, Tin=0.5%, Zn=bal)asper SFA 5.8 OR do i have to use a silver brazing alloy.
Please suggest.
If anyone has a BPS of brass#brass then please mail me a copy.
