Re: [MW:18961] 64'' Sch 40 Pipe Thickness & XS Pipe Thickness

As per ANSI pipe schedules (wall thickness as per ANSI B 36.19 & B 36,10)

The wall thickness varies for sch. 40, sch 80 and sch XS depending up on  pipe diameters.
for example: Sch 80 & XS will be same  up to 8" dia. and varies from 10" onwards. i.e.,
Sch. 80  has same wall thick. compared to XS from 14" onwards.
Sch. 40  has same wall thick. from 14" onwards.
Pipe schedules from 2" to 24" for Sch. 40 , XS & 80 is enclosed for your review and hope it
will help you for your cost calculations.

Dear Members
I have the following doubts to clear in the fabrication of large bore CS  pipe
As per our contract all the large bore pipes are Sch 40 but they provide the material and as per the design all the pipes are Sch  XS
1, What is thickness difference between Sch 40 & XS and how  I can prove this one according to the international standard
2. I have any wright to claim for extra cost because of the thickness difference

Please give your valuable advice

Thank You
