Re: [MW:18863] RE: 18859] Film Density check

Dear friend,

The area need to check is directly related to the area you need to interpret, e.g. if you need to interpret the weld and haz this areas shall satisfy the requirements or if you need to interpret weld and haz and base metal beside the weld with 3" wide, so this area shall satisfy the requirements of code/standard/spec.
The rules which you mentioned in your email is true for all areas that you may interpret, so sometimes whole length of individual film could be interpreted and sometimes just a part of an individual film is interpretable.

Regards

Hi Riuchard,

Interpretation for films, we need to check density at weld area and 1" from weld area to base material

Subject: [MW:18859] Film Density check

While doing film interpretation, which all area need to be checked for density with densitometer? spec says 1.8 to 3.5, is it only for weld area or also for entire area of film?

please clarify
