i am preparing PQR for overlay with the following on SA516 GR 70
1)DUPLEX E2209 (SMAW 3.15 dia)
2) INCONEL ERNiCr-3 (MIG 1.2dia solid wire)
3) MONEL ERNICU-7 + ERCUNI (MIG 1.2 dia sloid wire)
4) DUPLEX ER2209 (MIG 1.2 dia solid wire)
my question is
1) is the pure chemistry of filler(consumable) must for qualifying CORROSION RESISTANT OVERLAY PQR - YES. Then only the required corrosion resistant property will be achieved. Refer your client spec. also if applicable.
2) at what HEIGHT from base metal can I expect to get pure chemistry for above all consumable?
QW-453 notes : point (9) When a chemical composition is specified in the WPS, chemical analysis specimens shall be removed at locations specified in QW-462.5(b) or QW-462.5(e). The chemical analysis shall be performed in accordance with QW-462.5(a) and shall be within the range specified in the
WPS. This chemical analysis is not required when a chemical composition is not specified on the WPS.regards
