Dear members,--
Is it mandatory to weld the nozzles on to the tank shell plating with the doubler plate? it is mud tank fabricated from 6 mm plate diameter 2800 mm. and all nozzles (6" pipies) shown on the drawings are welded without doubler plates.
The construction code is not given bu I assume that this is API 650.
