[MW:29026] Mechanical test for Welder qualification for sour service as per B31.8

Gents,

Is it mandatory mechanical test qualification for welders as per ASME B31.8 sour gas service requirement as per clause B823.2?.

Qualification by RT as per ASME sec IX is acceptable ?. 

Since the design and construction code is ASME B31.8 we need to consider this requirement ?
