Re: [MW:23044] difference between fusion and penetration

If we search for the difference specially in the field of welding, it could be:

Some welding processes are categorized as fusion welding which we need melding during welding. In these processes we have fusion+penetration such as SMAW, SAW, ... .

In some other kinds of welding we have penetration without fusion such as friction welding (FW) or resistance welding (RW). We named these kinds of welding as solid state welding or non-fusion welding.
