Dear Himan,
when we consider chloride impact on SS316l, temperature is still key factor for pitting. basically, 25ppm and 60 degree is limitation for engineering experience.
but these data cannot eliminate all the risk, pitting or scc. due to localized area where is easily concentrated to trigger damage, especiall at elevated temperature.
so lots of aspects should be considered, not just chloride content.

Dear ExpertsI need need your valuable idea regarding usage SS316L in chloride containing media.I want to know what is chloride threshold for pitting and what is HCO3 effect in this regard. It will be highly appreciated if you can introduce me some references.Regards,Himan Nikdin
