Good Day to you,
Thanks Mr.Lakshman Kumar & Mr.Hemu Manivannan, I also same point of view in heating ,cooling & Soaking time and temperature we can follow ASME Codes. Now my concern is number of thermocouples to be connected to each joint and location of thermocouples to monitor the joint temperature. Any refrence / Recomendation from ASME Codes / API Codes.Other than AWS Codes.
Thanks
Regards

Hi,
As per API 6A, it was clearly specified PWHT shall be as per WPS only,
PWHT shall be carried as per the written procedure(which shall specify the tolerance in the temperature also) by the manufacturer and complying to the WPS.
Further WPS shall be in accordance with ASME Sec IX.
So as per my view we can refer for ASME Sec VIII Div -1 UW 40,( For requirements) and UCS 56, UNF 56, UHT 56, UHA 56, (for the temperature range, thickness limits, soaking time, etc)
I hope we can follow ASME Sec VIII.
