For thin sheet welding ,use autogenous welding ( w/o filler but to fuse the joint) with zero root gap
Care should be taken for proper fixturing / clamping of the sheet

We are trying to use automation in this case where it is difficult to use filler wire since the sheet is only 0.5mm and after welding the sheet needs to be formed (folded inside out) so deposition is not encoraged.
The welding length is only 15 to 20mm.
Any other suggestions.

Some time it is better to use ER 70S6 which has better deoxidizer

Use pulsed TIG.

Hi Nimesh
Are u using any filler wire ?
If yes then, trust you are using ER70S2 which is a good deoxidised wire.
Also i would suggest you grind the area to be welded i.e WEP prior to welding. We have welded GI pipes with same procedure by TIG successfully.
