As Body Seat is made with Overlay Welding that means its made for only Corrosion resistance Properties and the layering will be maximum 3-5 mm thk and during this important is their shouldn't be any crack in Layering and I feel PT is sufficient for Valve Layring and if your Thk is increasing then you can think of UT for Bonding and ...all

As you  know some valve manufacturers use body seat which is welded i.e. stainless steel overlay welds over ductile iron body usin MIG welding process. the NDT method used to inspect the weld is PT. My question is this enough and accepted or you need additional NDT test such as UT.
