[MW:2163] Determination of Et value in IBR Regulation 271
Dear Sirs,
Under IBR regulation 271, it is stated that allowable stress shall be considered lower of Et/1.5 or R/2.7.
Here, Et is - Yield Point (0.2%proof stress) at temp. t..
Can any one say from where this Et value shall be taken.
There are two options :
1. Refer IBR 16 (d) which gives table listing the values of Ratio ofEt/R20 for different temperatures. From which we can compute Et for particular temp. t.
(This table is only for carbon steel in general). Shall Et value be computed from this?
2. Or from Table Y-1 of ASME Sec. II-D? Which lists the yield strength at different temp. materialwise.
Kindly help on this issue as early as possible.
Pls. mark reply to piping_valves id also as i don't receive mail from materials-welding group.
Thanks in advance,
Regrds,
